Fawnd of You: Taylr Anne

Some girls were just born to be muses and Taylr is definitely that girl. She sprinkles style and good taste on everything she touches. I’ve always felt true style is in the way you live and Taylr is the epitome of a life lived well. She is not afraid to take a risk and do something slightly controversial. We appreciate a girl with vision and strength. We were lucky enough to sit down and chat with Taylr about what sets her soul on fire. Lady, we are so #FawndofYou

Give us a little background, what led you down this career path and how did you discover your love for content creation?

Hi there! My name is Taylr Anne, and by label, I am a blogger. While this is my career, I find my passions well-rounded in life. I grew up an intensely-trained athlete and as I matured into being career-minded, fashion really took a big part of my heart. I discovered my passion in creation shortly prior to starting college and majored in Fine Art with a focus on photography, while playing volleyball on scholarship at my university. After graduation, my career in commercial photography quickly transitioned into blogging, which is what I am doing full-time today. I try to show multifaceted areas of my life through my blog and Instagram while all surrounded by fashion. The fun thing about this is that often includes travel, which is another huge inspiration for my life.

What is your creative process like?

Lots of inspiration-hunting, lots of shooting. I try to come up with a feeling and just let that take me from there.

How and where do you gather inspiration?

Most of my favorite inspiration actually is on my Pinterest (https://www.pinterest.com/taylranne/) It is such a wonderful way to organize all of my inspiration in one place. On a life-scale, traveling always fuels me tremendously and gives me endless inspiration. I think they key to being inspired is never letting your eyes become bored. Always challenge yourself to break routine and see new things.

What was the biggest breakthrough in your career? Biggest challenge?

I think the biggest breakthrough for anyone starting their own career is finding their niche and really becoming 100% themselves. While, of course, we are constantly inspired by others, the confidence in being yourself and having your own vision is huge. As soon as I found that, I was on my own way.

How do you discover new brands?

If not through email introductions, most of the time I find them just as you would! Through Instagram or online press. It is always such a vibrant feeling finding new brands you feel a connection to.

What are some cherished pieces in your closet?

Anything I find vintage has a special place in my heart because it was a piece that spoke to me. I have a few heirloom pieces of jewelry that I adore, along with my favorite levi’s I’ve altered to fit like a glove.

How would you describe your aesthetic?

I think my aesthetic is warm and vibrant, but always cool and collected. At least that’s what I hope 🙂

What are some of your favorite LA haunts?

There are so many places in LA that are my favorite so it’s impossible to narrow it down! From shopping to eats, LA is full of gems. I love the Ace Hotel in DTLA for an afternoon bite or coffee, Gjusta in Venice, Bardonna in Silverlake for breakfast…Maru still has the best matcha latte I’ve ever had, and there is a whole list of vintage shopping I love in Silverlake area… you know what, get back to me on this. This has inspired me to write a blog post.

What is currently on your shopping list and what should I be adding to my cart?

I have an interesting list, but current wants include: vintage french translated novels, every single piece from Réalisation Par, a pair of R13 boots, and a Vitamix.

What are your top three beauty products that I should be adding to my top shelf?

It’s always changing, but my current three favorites are: Boy Brow by Glossier, RMS’ Magic Luminizer, and Ouai’s Rose Hair & Body Oil

Who do you think is totally must- worthy?

Brand-wise, I’ll wear anything by Rachel Comey.

What is the best gift you have ever been given?

What are some words of wisdom you would impart on any future female entrepreneurs?

A lot of people ask me the question: how do I start? And the honest answer is just do it. You can only prepare so much before you hit a standstill. There is never a better time do pursue your passions than this moment right now. I learned as I went along, made mistakes, and sharpened my skills in areas I didn’t know I had. At the end of the day, just start. People who do what they love, you can feel it in their work. My parents always told me to pursue what I love and the money will follow, and I am forever grateful they supported me doing just that.
